EUROPEAN REFERENDUM INITIATIVE - The European Referendum Initiative is a campaign for citizens to have the right to vote in a referendum whenever significant changes to laws affecting them are made at either national or European level. In particular, we believe that all citizens should immediately be given the opportunity to vote in referendums on the Lisbon Treaty.

Joining the Dots: The EU is designed to protect patents and corporate control - not the health and interests of its citizens

By Paul Anthony Taylor - The European Commission's Directorate General for Health and Consumers claims that its job is to "help make Europe's citizens healthier, safer and more confident." In reality however, and as more and more people are beginning to discover, the European Union's primary concerns are not those of ordinary citizens but rather the interests of multi-billion euro European corporations and their patents on health-endangering products such as GMO seeds, pharmaceutical drugs, artificial food additives and pesticides. As this article shows, the root-cause motivation behind the recent absurd attacks on organic farming and vitamin supplements is the fact that organic seeds and vitamins cannot be patented and, along with other natural products, therefore threaten the multi-billion euro profits from the sale of GMOs and pharmaceutical drugs. Read on to discover how the European Union is misleading you about your health and why a Europe for the People, by the People - as opposed to a Europe of Big Business - is now more urgently needed than ever.

A Referendum for Natural Remedies

What is the 'Referendum for Natural Remedies' campaign? The campaign aims to guarantee free access to scientifically based natural health remedies for all European Union citizens, via the holding of a 'Referendum for Natural Remedies' in all 27 European Member States. To achieve this, we want to obtain one million signatures in a petition demanding that the European Union hold such a referendum without delay.

Petition for a Europe for the People - by the People

What is the background to this petition? On November 13, 2007, more than 30 survivors of the extermination camp Auschwitz and other Nazi concentration camps met in Auschwitz for a one-day conference. Based on their unique moral credo, this extraordinary group of people decided to throw their weight into the discussion about Europe's future. In a solemn ceremony, they shared their experiences from the past and proposed a constitution for a "Europe for the People, by the People."

What is the European Referendum Initiative?

The European Referendum Initiative is a campaign for citizens to have the right to vote in a referendum whenever significant changes to laws affecting them are made at either national or European level. In particular, we believe that all citizens should immediately be given the opportunity to vote in referendums on the Lisbon Treaty.
